Holy deals high Holy-elemental damage for 46 MP. It deals major Holy-elemental damage to a single target at the cost of 46 MP. Holy is a White Magic spell learned by Rosa (level 55) and Porom (level 52). In the Easy Type version, the casting time was reduced to 2. Deathmask is the only enemy capable of casting this spell. The weapons Holy Lance and Asura's Rod cast Holy when used as an item, while the Lightbringer randomly casts it after attacking (though the latter two are only available in the GBA/PSP versions). Holy is learned by Rosa (level 55 (2D) or level 60 (3D)), Porom (level 52), and Fusoya (default). In the 3D versions, it has a casting time of 3, costs 46 MP, spell power of 340 with a 75% accuracy. Holy costs 50 MP, and has a spell power of 140 with 100% accuracy. In the 2D versions Holy (White on the SNES due to censorship) can inflict Sap if the target is weak against it. In some games, characters or enemies may have access to an upgraded version, Holyja. Some games portray the spell as being able to incinerate foes or petrify its targets upon death, signifying its divine source of power and line of magic being able to take away life as much as being able to give life. Undead are usually weak to holy magic throughout the series, implying it is mainly used by powerful and accomplished mages to exorcise evil spirits, purify corruption, and eliminate perverse things. It is not entirely known what its effects do, though the spell's incarnation differ in appearance from every installment. Like Flare, it usually cannot be group-casted. It is often a counterpart to the Black Magic spells Flare, Meteor or Ultima, and the spells often have similar graphics.
